Micromax has made its first international investment in the cloud based online backup system MiMedia. MiMedia offers online backup similar to Dropbox and AltDrive. With online backup services gearing up and becoming popular these days, users are now more aware of the importance of off-site backups.

MiMedia sends a hard drive to the user, and the user has to transfer the media file on the hard drive and then sends back to the company.  Once it returns the files are then transferred to MiMedia’s server directly. This avoids potential disruptions arising typically from low upload speeds on broadband networks.  Files from there are accessed  and streamed with no downloads needed from any internet enabled device.
